Moisturising Dry Hair Treatment

Apple Cider Vinegar and Mayonnaise, Egg and Honey Conditioner

So thought I would share some of the great ways to deal with dryness with your hair.I know I do experience a lot of it,so I did some really good research and thought I would share. There are so many ways you can deal with dryness I will try out more and share them with you too.I will probably do a tutorial on my  youtube channel upon request.
I tried out the Apple Cider Vinegar and Mayonnaise, Egg and Honey Conditioner. This might sound really yucky but it has all the stuff that's healthy for your hair.

This really helps in cleaning out any dirty build up and restores a little bounce back in your curls.
Mayonnaise has lots of  oils in it so this will help with the dryness.Eggs are really high in protein and yes your hair needs protein.I just add honey for a little bit of some shine and WALA!!!!! your curls are back looking and feeling really moisturised.I decided to try out the Bantu knots as a style and it turned out pretty AWESOME.

So for this I first washed my hair :
Take a big glass of water and at least half a cup of Apple cider Vinegar mix together and use this as a shampoo to wash your hair.
Then rinse off.

Secondly you will need :

  1. A bowl
  2. 2 eggs
  3. 6 table spoons of Mayo
  4. A table spoon of honey

  • Then whisk all the ingredients together until you get a nice thick mixture. Then apply sparingly to your entire head .
  • Cover with a salon plastic cap and let it sit for at least 45mins or more depending how dry your hair is.
  • Then wash it all off and let it dry I mean air dry and style as desired.

You can add some of your oils to seal in moisture like I usually do.I like to think of my hair like any human body it needs proper nutrition to be healthy same thing with your hair.Like honestly this is a great way to condition your hair its really convenient and cost effective too especially if your a student like me,you pretty much have all these ingredients in your kitchen.

So thought I would upload some pics of what it turned out to look like

I had such awesome definition
Any questions I would be happy to answer. I'm really enjoying my journey.Try this out you will pleased with the results,I know I was.

My Product Review

My Product Review

Hi Everyone,

So I KNOW its been a while since I posted.Forgive me but you know how them books can just take over.haha

Anyway I'm finally seeing more and more growth with my hair. I'm super excited I'm now in my  7th month of being natural.I currently do have braids in my hair as a protective style this fall but I will be bringing them down after a few months to let my hair breathe for a bit.
A lot of people have been asking me about the products I use in my hair.Let me break it down for you I AM A PRODUCT JUNKIE!!!..Seriously  I always want to try something new and different.Although,I do have some staple products I use on a regular basis.I pretty much keep it simple.Funny thing is a buy something new and after a few weeks never use it again haha. So I'm  trying on just getting rid of what I currently have.

Ladies the sooner you find out your hair type the better and much easier it will be for you to find what works for you.
Some of the things you might want to keep away from in your products are  Sulphates and Petroleum.Sulphates will just dry your hair out and petroleum will just sit on you scalp and give it no room for growth.

These are some of the products that I'm currently using:

  Shampoo

V05 Milk Conditioning Shampoo-Also avoid shampooing your hair too often I only do so once a month  to get rid of all the unwanted build up.Instead I always co-wash 2-3 times a week.

Conditioners
1.As a deep conditioner- I use Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner (I could promise a lot of naturals use this too) ,leaves your hair clean and soft and very inexpensive.
2. One and Only Argan Oil Repair Moisture Conditioner-this stuff smells AWESOME I can easily run my hands through it without using my wide tooth comb.

2.Leave in conditioner-Silk Elements Leave In conditioner it always makes my tiny curls pop and its not too heavy.

Daily Moisturisers I basically use  oils
1.*African Shea butter 100% natural-this really makes my hair grow,it gives moisture from your roots to your tips and protects especially in the winter . Helps with dryness. This was highly recommended to me by a friend.

2.Extra Virgin Olive oil (Evoo) -Yes you will find this in your kitchen I usually use this to seal moisture right after my co-wash.

Styling Products
1.One and Only Argan Oil Curl Cream -this stuff works my curls it gives them great definition
2. Ecostyler Gel -I live with this stuff it leaves no flakes and it keeps my hair soft. This stuff is my survival kit on some of those early morning lectures.

Where to find these products:
Suave-Any local store Food Basics going for $0.99
Silk Elements,One and Only Argan Oil Conditioner-Sallys
Extra Virgin Olive Oil-You can get that in any grocery store.

Now I'm not saying all this will guarantee you big results but this is what I do for my hair. Its all about exploring what YOUR hair needs and what works for YOU.

Hope this helps guys
